and now there's the final dinner!

Afterwards, the hall is a buzz of performers greeting audience members, volunteers assisting musicians in getting things wrapped up, and then people moving to our hotel for the final dinner.
This time we must walk! We take off in a direction following a larger group ahead thinking we know where we are going.  It's dark and cold and at night we are not quite sure we'll recognize the building, but fairly sure of the direction.  We keep walking and walking and finally find our building.

We move to a large dining area to find the tables beautifully set and wonderful food being served and wine being passed.  Before long, the music begins and there is a continuous series of young student performers who sing, dance and create a sense of cutural splendor through sound, movement, costumes and musical instruments.

Truly tonight we see the excitement of this entire cultural exchange take place with these enthusiastic youth and the generous hospitality of our sponsors.  Our China Adventure is beginning its final curtain call.  The party continues on by sharing--our brass section disappears and returns with their instruments and a new exchange begins through some boisterous, jazzy tunes.  Everyone is engaged.  The evening goes on and on.  As people leave, they are smiling, laughing and  still exchanging conversations, taking photos and making friends.

Tomorrow there is a final breakfast, then a shopping excursion to the local markets that will be led by many student volunteers.  Tomorrow we will begin the long journey home.
